Hyundai Motor premiered its China-specific electric vehicle (EV) IONIQ V during Auto China 2026, heralding the brand’s strategic expansion in the world’s largest EV market. The IONIQ V is the production version of the VENUS Concept unveiled earlier this month, and marks the IONIQ brand’s first China-specific model, manufactured in China in collaboration with local tech companies to serve the lifestyles of local consumers. The IONIQ V is built on a platform jointly developed with Hyundai’s Chinese joint venture partner Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC) and is equipped with batteries developed in collaboration with China’s leading battery maker CATL.
